Cat Dex (petdex) privacy

Applies to the cat-breed dex app with optional accounts for Android and iOS, titled Cat Dex (猫咪图鉴 / 貓咪圖鑑 / ねこ図鑑 in its other languages); working title petdex. The same notice is shown inside the app.

This service is operated by llab08, Hong Kong, and these terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong. The section below explains this product’s data handling and current availability.

Summary

The collection works offline. Signing in to a llab08 account is optional. Sign-in and session refresh contact our shared login service over HTTPS. There is no analytics, crash reporting or advertising SDK.

Account sign-in

When you choose Google or Apple, that provider authenticates you. Our self-hosted login service at supabase.llab08.com stores your account id, e-mail address (which may be an Apple relay address) and profile details the provider supplies, such as a name, to operate and secure your account. We do not receive your provider password. Session credentials are kept in the device’s secure storage and removed when you sign out. Signing in does not upload your collection or photos.

Deleting your account

You can delete your Cat Dex account on the app’s Account screen. Cat Dex keeps no collection or other per-user data on our servers, so deletion removes the Cat Dex account state and signs you out on that device. Your cats, reveal tokens and other collection progress on the device stay until you uninstall the app. Your shared llab08 sign-in identity and data in other llab08 products remain, so those products keep working. If you signed in with Apple, you must confirm with Apple first and we ask Apple to revoke Cat Dex’s access before deletion; if that fails, nothing is deleted. A new Cat Dex account cannot be created with the same llab08 sign-in, Apple or Google account, or e-mail address for two years. During that time we keep only keyed one-way hashes of those identifiers, not the identifiers themselves; the hashes are used only for this product’s block and are erased automatically after two years. Stored on your device

Your collection progress (revealed entries, reveal tokens, language choice) is kept only in the app’s private storage on this device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

Photos

Adding a photo to an entry only uses your camera or photo library to confirm you took a picture. The photo is not checked, uploaded or kept; the temporary copy is deleted immediately.

Breed scanning (if present in your build)

Some test builds include a “Scan a cat” feature that sends the chosen photo to a third-party AI service to suggest breeds. Store builds ship without it unless this section says otherwise.

Advertising

None as of the date below: the app contains no ad SDK and shows no ads. If a future version adds ads, this section is updated first.

Links

The privacy screen in the app opens this page in your system browser. Account sign-in also opens Google or Apple through the shared login service.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them. Sign-in is optional. If you believe a child has provided personal information through an account, please contact us at hello@llab08.com.
