SideView privacy
Marketing site at sideview.llab08.com and an unsigned beta of the Mac app (Apple silicon), downloaded from the site.
This service is operated by llab08, Hong Kong, and these terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong. The section below explains this product’s data handling and current availability.
Data this product handles
The public site is static HTML. No account. No first-party analytics.
It does load one third-party resource: the page’s web font (Hanken Grotesk) comes from Google Fonts, so opening it requests files from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. That request tells Google your IP address, your browser’s user agent and which page asked for the font; see Google’s privacy policy. Nothing else on the site contacts a third party.
The download is served from cdn.llab08.com through Cloudflare, which receives your IP address and browser’s user agent in order to deliver the file, as any web host does.
The Mac app
The app has no account, no analytics and no update check, and it sends nothing to llab08. What it keeps stays on your Mac: its display settings, your notepad text, and the cookies and site data of the web apps you open, in the app’s own WebKit store (like a browser profile). Clipboard history is off until you turn it on; it is then kept in memory only and never written to disk.
Besides the sites you open in it, the app loads Google as its first tab (GitHub is the second, loaded when you switch to it), fetches each site’s own /favicon.ico for the dock, and sends words you type in the address bar (anything that is not a web address) to Google Search.
Web apps you open inside SideView are the sites themselves, under their own privacy policies. You sign in to them directly; SideView does not read or store your passwords.
